Every novel starts with an idea. This could be a character, a scene, a theme, or a concept that interests you. Spend some time brainstorming and let your imagination run wild. Remember, there are no bad ideas at this stage.
Step 2: Character Development
Characters are the heart of any story. Start by outlining their essential traits, then delve deeper into their desires, fears, strengths, and weaknesses. Consider how they will grow and change throughout the story.
Step 3: Plotting
Plotting involves deciding the sequence of events in your story. A basic structure includes the setup, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Ensure the characters’ decisions and actions, including conflict and resolution, drive your plot.
